The Operations Supervisor will report to the Facility Manager and will provide leadership and supervision for the Houston Plant. The Operations Supervisor will plan, supervise and direct all operations and maintenance activities of the Areas. Will perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government requirements. As a team member, this person will also assist in other Maintenance, Engineering and EH&S related activities.



•Ensure the safe operations of the Smithburg facility.
•Ensure employees and contractors comply with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, regulations and requirements
•Promotes and ensures full compliance with the Company safety programs
•Ensures full compliance with all company standards, procedures, practices and policies. Utilizing the Code of Conduct as a guiding principle
•Responsible for work scheduling, focusing on optimization and efficiency of operations and budgetary mindfulness
•Responsible for documented job training and ensuring all employees are competent to perform assigned job duties
•Ensure that the Training Program for New Employees (and incumbent as required) is completed timely and effectively
•Maintains a working knowledge of environmental regulations and Company policies
•Maintains all necessary and required documentation for regulated compression sites
•Manage day to day operation of including directing operating personnel in optimization of unit throughput, and assigning maintenance priorities
•Work with Scheduling and others to provide a superior level of service to each of our Customers
•Assist in updating, maintaining and creating Standard Operating and Maintenance procedures, including an effective PM program
•Assist in creating and approving Job Plans
•Approve all work orders and prioritize maintenance activities
•Manage daily and monthly gas/liquid nominations
•Perform troubleshooting and assist with technical support on various types of process equipment
•Maintain productive relationships with external customers including marketing/commercial group, gas suppliers, contractors, vendors, government agencies and regulatory agencies.
•Responsible for overseeing operation budget and maintenance capital budget
•Perform troubleshooting and technical support to operation staff
•Schedule and lead the operations/maintenance activities during outages
•Oversee and supervise all field construction projects
•Perform equipment failure reviews, root cause investigations and PSSR reviews

Employee will direct the work of employees, temporary employees, contract labor, or others.


•High school diploma or equivalent is required.
•Advanced degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering, Operations Management or Business preferred.
•Prior supervisory experience in liquid pipeline and terminal operations. Experience supervising and/or managing multi-site operational groups.
•Minimum of 3-5 years’ operating/engineering experience in natural gas gathering, processing and pipeline operations.
•Strong management, planning, organizational and leadership skills.
•Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to interface effectively with regulatory agencies, company contacts, customers and employees.
•Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications and in other menu driven programs used by the company.
•Understand budgeting and financial processes.
•Strong problem solving skills.
•Ability to resolve operational problems and be able to work with location personnel to resolve the problem.
•Knowledge of various laws governing pipelines and processing facilities including but not limited to OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.
•Must have ability to work in and effectively supervise and lead in a team environment.
•High School diploma or GED is required
•Must hold a valid Driver License and have an excellent driving record
•Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug test and background check
•Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and with flammable liquids. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, acidic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Materials and Equipment Used:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly use hand tools, computers, phone, fax, copier, map printer/plotter and analytical electronic devices, buried pipe line locators and operate a motor vehicle.
