Responsibilities:

1. Interacts with internal departments as well as external parties in researching and resolving discrepancies or problems and in exchanging information with others as required to complete tasks, including providing necessary information internally, externally, and to auditors. Performs technical audits of internal and external 3rd party hydrocarbon measurement systems and provides input on their improvements.

 

2. Collaborates with Accounting, Commerical, and other control groups to resolve missing data issues and ensures volumes impacting system balances are updated. Audits multiple data sources such as, but not limited to, tank gauges, meter readings, pumper logs, OSIsoft PI System to ensure accuracy and reliability. Identifies needed improvements and initiates appropriate corrective actions with data owners. 

 

3. Leads or participates in business improvement projects for improved loss control and mass balance by identifying and investigating loss control issues. Develops action plans and reviews recommended actions with responsible organizations to ensure remedial actions are given appropriate priority and support. Tracks progression of open action steps to closure.

 

4. Fosters loss control awareness within the assigned business unit(s) by generating monthly performance measures reports and developing and maintaining loss control opportunity list for Refining business unit(s). Aligns objectives and priorities for loss control initiatives with refinery management. 

 

5. Works with other specialists within Loss Control team to identify common needs and implement company policy and industry standards, standardized work processes, and best practices resulting in cost-justified accurate measurement results. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum high school or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in an analytically oriented discipline (e.g. business, economics, mathematics, etc.) or technology-oriented discipline (e.g. computer science, management information systems, etc.) preferred.

Minimum 5 years refinery operations or mid-stream logistics experience required.

Minimum 3 years hydrocarbon measurement or loss control experience preferred.

Prior yield accounting or mass balance experience preferred.
