MPC seeks engineers from a wide range of technical disciplines to meet its growing business requirements.

Area Refining Engineer/Project Engineer

As an Area Refining Engineer, you will gain knowledge of various aspects of a refinery by working with a team of professionals who run a specific portion of the refining process. Most often, Area Refining Engineers will have an opportunity to work on more than one area of the refining process, leading to a broad understanding of how a refinery operates.

Reliability Engineer

Reliability engineers support the Refinery's maintenance department through design and development of equipment reliability improvements, root cause failure analysis, and optimization of maintenance predictive and preventive programs. Reliability Engineers will continuously be challenged with finding new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.

As a Mechanical Engineer in a refinery, you can expect to become familiar with industry codes and best practices, build in critical thinking skills gained from college curriculum, and gain an understanding of how other engineering disciplines such as chemical engineering and electrical engineering fits as teammates at a refinery.

During your time at MPC, you will develop and utilize project management skills including developing project scopes, estimates, and schedules.  Once a project is developed, you, as the project manager, will oversee the design effort and assist through the construction process. MPC will provide training and educational opportunities to help you develop your knowledge of other engineering disciplines.  You will also develop written and verbal presentation skills in a professional work environment.  Additionally, MPC is committed to developing engineers into professional project managers who have the ability to successfully manage projects of all sizes.
