Responsibilities:

MPC’s Marketing organization is recognized as a consistent leader in the petroleum industry, providing transportation fuels, asphalt and specialty products throughout the United States. Our comprehensive product line supports commercial, industrial and retail operations.

 

The Marketing Professional’s (MP) primary goal is to operate with an entrepreneurial mindset to provide long-term value creation. They are responsible for developing and executing plans with a critical focus on creating maximum value for the company.  Marketing Professionals can take on the following roles at MPC:

 

Territory Manager: The Territory Manager (TM) has the responsibility for the strategic development of their territory. This responsibility would include completing market and project analysis, enhancing customer relationships, prospecting, negotiating contracts and optimizing profitable sales.  An entry level TM will work with professional entrepreneurs in the development of their business. The TM will provide leadership to customers/partners on issues of mutual importance.

 

Scheduler: The Scheduler has responsibility for ensuring product movements to customers, terminals and refineries.  This includes monitoring production, sales forecasts, inventories, product quality and material movements.  Schedulers will coordinate optimum delivery plans with customers and other business partners in refining, terminals, marine, rail and transport operations.

 

Analyst: The Marketing Analyst has the responsibility for achieving Division goals and strategies. The individual will have the opportunity to interact with field personnel as well as internal customers (IT, Pricing and Allocation, TT&R, SD&P, Tax, and Accounting). This includes numerous opportunities to participate and lead both internal projects as well as cross-organizational projects.

Qualifications:

  • Desired Major: Marketing, Finance, or other business majors
  • Education Level: Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Military experience a plus
