Overview


Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a recognized leader in the energy industry, is seeking a Global Procurement (GP) Procurement Processor for its Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas.

The GP Procurement Processor performs a variety of administrative duties to ensure the “Purchase to Pay” function operates accurately and efficiently at the facility. This position requires effective interaction with a variety of organizations such as Maintenance, Engineering, Operations and Accounting.  Responsibilities include the accurate & timely conversion of requisitions into purchase orders, expediting material/supplies, troubleshooting “blocked” invoices, and assisting business partners.  This position reports to Sandra Dahlstrom, Tactical Procurement Supervisor.  Grades N3-N6 will be considered depending on experience.

 

Responsibilities include: 

  1. Efficient at multi-tasking in a “fast paced” energetic and demanding work environment.
  2. Interact with internal business partners & suppliers to create and issue purchase orders within the SAP system.
  3. Review all draft purchase orders to ensure accuracy of PO items, descriptions, pricing, quantity, freight, & shipping information.
  4. Effectively communicate with suppliers, internal business partners, and assigned Procurement & Contracts Representatives regarding pricing & delivery concerns.
  5. Strong internal advocate that promotes the Global Procurement policies and procedures.
  6. Required to handle the “Procurement – On Call” system as scheduled in rotation with other GP Procurement Processors.
  7. Identify areas for process improvement and commercial optimization.
  8. Contact suppliers to confirm order delivery dates (expediting).
  9. Resolve invoice problems including parked and blocked invoices.
  10. Assist in training business partners on procurement systems and processes.
  11. Facilitation of vendor name change process or new vendor creation.
  12. Other responsibilities as advised by Leadership.

 

Qualifications

Associates Degree preferred. 2-5 years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience preferred.
Computer proficiencies: Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of SAP required.
