SUMMARY:   This position is responsible for the coordination of the safety and security compliance programs.  This individual will be required to initiate compliance processes, provide training, develop procedures and track overall compliance of the Summer Field Processing Plant, related Compressor Stations and Pipelines.. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Coordinate the safety and security compliance programs.
  • Facilitate the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and participate in PHA and MOC processes to help identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and near misses. Monitor and close out action items.
  • Conduct compliance training and maintain records accordingly.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and written programs.
  • Facilitate the safety committee.
  • Collect and track various safety related metrics.
  • Coordinate and perform various site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor OSHA regulatory requirements and communicate potential impacts to operations and construction.
  • Coordinate and administer various industrial health programs.

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

 

None directly.   However, this individual is responsible for overseeing all safety, health and security elements of the facility and its employees including construction project work.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

 

Bachelor’s degree in safety field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have working understanding of PSM elements or previous experience at a regulated PSM/RMP facility.
  • Must have working knowledge of OSHA regulations and Process Safety Management.
  • Must possess a full knowledge of safety metrics, root cause analysis, excavation safety, confined space entry, fall protection requirements, hot work safety, hazard communication, mobile equipment requirements and mobile crane safety.
  • Must have the ability to prepare safety related reports and other types of documentation in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Must be able to properly analyze process safety related information and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be proficient in conducting onsite assessments and evaluations as they relate to safety and process safety management items.
  • Must be able to perform and track all site safety required trainings.
  • Must have excellent time and project management skills and ability to work well with minimal supervision.

 

  • Communication Skills:  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Job will require public speaking engagements and significant report writing. 

 

  • Computer Skills:  Must have exceptional computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook.   A working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint systems is also required.   Familiarity with safety related software management and LMS systems a plus.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

 

Current valid driver's license required.   Current safety related certifications are a plus.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

 

  • Must have a general understanding of the natural gas processing and gathering business.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and privileged information.
  • Must be a self-starter who communicates well with plant personnel, management, public, regulatory agencies, and customers.
  • This position has high visibility at this location.   Individual must possess excellent leadership type qualities and a previous track record of safety success.
