This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing all equipment associated with and not limited to remote compressor stations, valve sites, engines, compressors and processing facility equipment.  This position will also be responsible for the operational duties associated with the gathering, transportation and processing of natural gas. These duties will include all compressor preventative maintenance, station loss control, testing and monitoring of engine and compressor performance. The position will have the ability to give assistance to construction, operations and other staff mechanics on an as needed basis. This position will also require strong supervisory skills, and the ability to coordinate and complete large projects within a specific time frame, working with contractors, MarkWest personnel, and our customers. Maintenance technicians will also be required to train and ensure other employees are proficient in the day to day operations of the compressor stations.



  • Monitoring of engine and compression performance
  • Optimizing compressor run time, and horsepower usage
  • Completing scheduled maintenance of equipment, in a timely manner
  • Ensure environmental compliance/maintain site and or compressor venting records
  • Maintain regulatory compliance records, both third party and internal
  • Monitor operation of all compressor site process equipment, reporting any and all abnormalities
  • Control and minimize repair expense through strong preventative maintenance plan
  • Rectify site operation problems on an as needed basis
  • Reporting any unsafe condition or situation that would compromise the integrity of any Markwest equipment or locations
  • Identify and recommend ways to reduce operating expenses
  • Maintaining clean and safe working environment
  • Making any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe
  • Reporting any and all repairs that could not be completed due to safety, or other hazards, to your supervisor
  • Comply with all EH&S guidelines
  • Compressor station operations and automation
  • Proficiency with Oracle, Delta V, and Scada systems operation
  • Operating a company vehicle
  • Maintaining the company vehicle and equipment at all times to ensure safety to him and the equipment that he will operate
  • Order equipment as needed
  • Proficiency in proper Purchase order creation, and approval procedure



  • Must have integrity while representing MarkWest Liberty
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • Self motivated with the ability to work well with others
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to train and motivate others
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute many tasks at once
