Responsible for managing and serving as a point of contact for assigned projects/programs. Responsible for creating and executing long and short-term strategies, ensuring the strategy is executed through the implementation of comprehensive plans. Set targets for milestones and adhere to deadlines. Develop and manage a detailed schedule and work plan. Provide updates on a consistent basis to a large, diverse set of Stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress. Lead and/or facilitate cross-functional teams. Analyze data, spend and market intelligence to identify continuous improvement opportunities and deliver strategic solutions that support business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Supplier Diversity Program while cultivating and expanding internal and external partnerships.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and leveraging partnerships to maximize commitment to Supplier Diversity.
  • Develop partnerships with small and diverse Suppliers and collaborate with external Supplier Diversity councils (MBE, WBE, Veterans, Disability, LGBTQ) to support programs, and identify opportunities for small and diverse Suppliers to support business objectives.
  • In collaboration with key Stakeholders, ensure program strategies are in alignment with business objectives across multiple functions and business units.
  • Lead training initiatives to promote education of assigned programs.
  • Identify industry best practices by conducting research consisting of external benchmarking, attending conferences, and gaining insight from internal and external partners.
  • Leverage data and technology to analyze data; identify and execute opportunities to support business objectives.
  • Responsible for governmental reporting as it relates to Marathon’s diverse Supplier spend.
  • Manage all aspects of the Supplier Recognition Awards, in which Suppliers are rewarded for outstanding performance the previous calendar year. Execute on time and on budget.
  • For assigned projects, develop, implement, and manage all activities including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Measure project progression and performance to ensure all activities are aligned with the established plan.
  • Continuously communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners on status and performance.
  • Provide support to other Supply Chain projects/programs as needed. Existing projects are focused on ESG/Sustainability, including Risk Management.
  • Occasionally execute contracts and POs to support business objectives.
  • Utilize Supply Chain tools, templates and systems, as prescribed by the Supply Chain Function.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, Engineering, Business, Science, or similar discipline required. Project Management and/or similar certification preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of Supply Chain, Commercial, Contract Development or Contract Management experience required. Project Management experience preferred. ESG/Sustainability, Supplier Diversity and/or Risk Management experience preferred.
