G&P HES&S Fleet Compliance is seeking a motivated and flexible individual to manage the G&P vehicle fleet.  The successful candidate will oversee approximately 700 vehicles.  The management of the G&P fleet includes interfacing with G&P’s fleet management company, ordering new vehicles, working with Field Operations and Process Departments to determine vehicle needs, reviewing utilization, designing vehicles and providing updates to Management. 

This position affords a unique opportunity to regularly interact with Operations, multiple process departments, Marathon’s fleet management company, and reports to the G&P Fleet Compliance Supervisor




Supports management of the company’s motor vehicles in compliance with established directives by taking the lead in or assisting with the following functions:

  • Liaison with Field Operations and G&P Process departments to support their needs from a fleet perspective.
  • Liaison with Marathon’s fleet management company and MPC Supply Chain to update information, provide essential feedback, and troubleshoot potential G&P fleet issues. 
  • Wheels Point of Contact for G&P.  Utilize the Wheels database to monitor and analyze the fleet for improvements and ensure proper fleet size by monitoring utilization. 
  • Review the mileage, and age to determine when new vehicles need to be ordered and place orders for new vehicles.
  • Set up, track, forecast, and report vehicle inventory. 
  • Provide specifications for each type of vehicle to the G&P fleet provider.  Coordinate with Wheels to obtain quotes for new vehicle and arrange orders for vehicle leases or purchases as approved by management. 
  • Monitor production, upfitting, and delivery of vehicles.
  • Recommend and justify new vehicle budgets on an annual basis to accounting for inclusion in the overall budget.
  • Coordinate Local Fleet Coordinator activities and training.  Provide QA/QC on fleet field activity.
  • Complete tax department requests and any additional state or federal reporting requirements for the G&P fleet.
  • Support development and ongoing updates of G&P procedures and policies related to vehicles (ie purchases, kitting, assignment, etc.
  • Support processes and other departments in the execution of G&P Fleet objectives, programs and processes.
  • Assist Local Fleet Coordinators in the administration of fuel cards, registrations, and equipment purchases as needed.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and potential efficiencies related to fleet.
  • Support the use of telematics devices and systems and provide summary reporting for upper management.



Degree: Bachelor’s degree required

Major Discipline: Business (Preferred but not required)

Work Experience: Fleet experience (minimum of 3 years) is preferred

Travel Required (%): 10%

Proficiencies: Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills
