SUMMARY

Develops and executes basic to moderately complex vessel schedules and cargo plans for time chartered vessels in accordance with the plan generated by the Optimization group.  Addresses plan changes and provides guidance across the enterprise and manages Jones Act fleet balance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with Marine Operations, Refining Optimization/Feedstock Coordinator, Crude, Fuel Oil and Product schedulers, and refinery/terminal schedulers for Jones Act waterborne optimization of time chartered equipment.
  • Management of Jones Act tanker fleet, scheduling of all cargoes to maintain high vessel utilization in coordination with Refining Optimization and Scheduling/Trading needs.
  • Understands basic knowledge of tanker operations including tank preparation (International agreed stands such as Shell Tank Cleaning Guide), charter parties, refining feedstock/products/processes.  
  • Coordinates with System Optimizers, Director of Business Operations, Trading, Refining Economics, Scheduling, Marine and Planning personnel to identify and evaluate economics of available supply/demand balances to realize commercial opportunities on all waterborne cargoes moved via Jones Act vessels.
  • Works with Refinery Supply Coordinators to maintain optimal utilization of Jones Act fleet for prompt-120 days out.
  • Develops and maintains forward plan for Jones Act fleet demand to develop JA strategy in collaboration with Chartering.
  • Maintains and tracks economic uplift of various vessel decisions.  Develops/evaluates, coordinates and tracks opportunities within the Jones Act fleet to capture synergies.
  • Provides support to the strategy implementation and business development activities.   
  • Provides backup support to Marine Operations as needed.

 

EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, marketing, economics, optimization, accounting, or maritime degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a scheduler, vessel agent, commercial marine operator or refinery optimization preferred.
