  • Develops and executes basic to moderately complex vessel schedules and cargo plans for Tesoro time and spot chartered vessels in accordance with the plan generated by the Optimization group. Addresses plan changes and provides guidance across the enterprise and filters appropriate information to the vessels for voyage planning.
  • Oversees/coordinates overall interface between the Marine Operations group, optimization, crude and product schedulers, and refinery and terminal schedulers.
  • Manages spot charters ensuring safe and efficient operations. Responsible for timely reporting of incidents and management of communications between stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all aspects of voyage management from cradle to grave and support of post fixture claims. Works with Post Fixture Claims throughout the voyage from start to completion.
  • Communicates with vessels and creates and executes voyage orders, vessel reporting requirements, cargo documentation, and agency appointment/nominations.
  • Responsible for planning and preparation of cargo tanks for time and spot chartered vessels per Tesoro Tank cleaning Matrix or International agreed standards i.e. Shell Tank Cleaning Guide.
  • Maintains close working relationship with International and US flag owners and Ship Brokers for time chartered and spot chartered tankers and barges.
  • Plans and purchases bunker fuel for Tesoro time chartered vessels liaising with the vessels and bunker broker to optimize cost and quantity per the vessel schedule.
  • Approves Freight invoices and Time Charter hire invoices for chartered vessels per the charter party contract.
  • Ensures compliance with the charter party contract by the time chartered vessel and owners speed, fuel consumption, load/discharge operations.
  • Files and inputs voyage data and scheduling into IMOS and other Tesoro voyagemanagement software.
  • Collaborates with Singapore office in scheduling and managing voyages of time and spot chartered tankers while in the Americas.
  • Reviews and executes charter party contracts and vendor service contracts with for legal, contractual and financial obligations and approval.

 

Requirements 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 or more years of experience as a vessel agent or commercial marine operator required
