  1. Responsible for identifying shipping opportunities and performing economic analysis of waterborne shipping strategies to provide the optimal marine transportation solution.
  2. Optimizes freight to capture changes in market structure and/or consolidate cargoes to reduce the cost of transportation.
  3. Develops and implements negotiating strategy and tactics to complement waterborne strategy.
  4. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (ex. Crude, Feedstock, Products) to ensure profit-making transactions are executed and arbitrage on freight is captured. 
  5. Ensures marine contract/charter party terms are consistent with the Company’s and in line with standard industry practice(s).
  6. Conducts continuous reviews of current markets and analyzes supply/demand fundamentals impacting shipping market rates.
  7. Provides maritime support for business development and strategy.   
  8. Participates in negotiating the settlement of claims.
  9. Manages commercial relationships with clients and other business associates, including vessel owners and industry charterers.
  10. Analyzes, anticipates and reports developing trends in maritime markets and prepares forecasts and market outlooks accordingly.





  • For all professional levels a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation or Business Administration is required



  • 5 or more years of commercial chartering experience across a spectrum of cargoes and business lines required
