Overview

 

L&S Terminals is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform all facets of Terminal meter calibration and repairs and becoming competent in performing these tasks independent of direct supervision. The Measurements Technician will be located at the Romulus, MI Terminal office. Familiarity with terminal equipment is preferred along with a mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of PCs and the ability to work with this equipment and software (including Microsoft Word and Excel) is preferred. The position requires considerable travel as a requirement. The ability to obtain a CDL license and passing the DOT physical examination is required. Additionally, the candidate must attain and maintain the required state certifications for meter calibration. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Calibrate turbine and positive displacement meters at all light product terminals and partnering facilities (Andersons, MPL, etc) using the Prover Can and the Small Volume Prover.
  2. Monitor and analyze meter factor drift and work with the Measurement Specialist to recommend corrective actions based on the analysis.
  3. Assist the Measurement Specialist with investigation and resolution of loss/gain issues at terminals.
  4. Maintain meter calibration equipment (Prover Can and Small Volume Prover).
  5. Assist to ensure prover cans and the Small Volume Prover are following state certification requirements and are calibrated within the regulatory time frames.
  6. Provide assistance as requested by the Measurements Supervisor, Measurement Specialist and the Measurements & Engineering Manager.
  7. Provide field assistance and calibration for new meter installations and meter upgrades.
  8. Work independently without direct, daily supervision.
  9. Maintain a DOT Certification, CDL License, and required State Measurement Certifications.
  10. Troubleshoot and repair measurement-related equipment.

 

Requirements

No degree required. 5+ years of Operational or Transport Experience preferred. Approximately 80% travel required, with some overnight travel.
