POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will manage MPC Transport Drivers engaged in the loading, transportation, and off-loading of product to Speedway and Wholesale Account customers. Location for this position is to be in Niles, MI.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The Regional Transport Manager (RTM) directs and coordinates the activities of transport personnel engaged in the loading, transport and off-loading of product.
  • Compiles and maintains necessary records and reports, manages the day-to-day activities of company drivers and transports to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of light products to MPC's customers, ensures that TT&R's StructuredSafety Process and other HES policies are followed in daily operations; identifies and implements HES improvement opportunities, and interacts with Transport Scheduling to coordinate the dispatch of company transport drivers and/or common carriers to marketing outlets, consumer accounts, and bulk plants to effect maximum efficiency and savings on deliveries.
  • The RTM also stays informed on government rules and regulations pertaining to transport of hazardous materials, facilitates the delivery of product in support of the company’s marketing function in a safe and secure manner, initiates initial response to emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents, involving corporate transport personnel and resources, interfaces with Terminal Managers, area Speedway and Brand Managers, and Wholesale Marketing Reps and customers to insure that transport assets are being used in the most efficient manner to deliver customer services to both external and internal customers, and the position works with the Proprietary Garage to ensure equipment is maintained to standards established by the D.O.T. and to maintain fleet efficiency metrics.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Degree: Bachelors preferred Major Discipline: Business related field Years Experience: Three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office

 

 

Travel Required (%): Approximately 20%.
