POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position supports the Latin America business unit and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of multiple processes.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Track and reconcile terminal inventories
  • Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls for the Mexico organization
  • Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports
  • Prepares and reviews account reconciliations
  • Participates in month-end close accounting related activities
  • Collaborates with auditors and assists with quarterly reviews and year-end audits
  • Identifies costs and efficiency gaps, recommending ways to reduce costs or improve processes and standards
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to planning and/or facilitating the environmental and legal due diligence meetings

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, experience specific to inventory financials is preferred
  • Must be Bilingual - Fluency (speaking and writing) in both Spanish and English
  • Must be able to travel to United States with a B1B2 VISA or traveling passport

  • Understanding of IFRS and Mexican accounting processes

 

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statements and reports, and ledgers and journals
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in using accounting or related systems
  • Strong ability to multi-task and adapt in ambiguous environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to review and analyze the most complex accounting information
  • Ability to identify, research and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and promote teamwork
  • Required travel up to 10% of the time
  • Required to work extensive hours and sometimes over weekends with appropriate flexibility
