POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position supports the Latin America business unit and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of multiple processes. This position will also be responsible for providing direction to accounting functions including accuracy of payments, assuring the resolution of customer and vendor disputes in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies, and all applicable accounting guidelines and regulations. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversees the activities of Accounting staff and manages professional employees. Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function.
  • Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets.
  • Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.
  • Develops, directs, plans and evaluates policies and procedures. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Reviews work of accounting staff to ensure tasks are properly documented, and properly approved.
  • Collaborate with tax and customs departments for appropriate accounting of tax related entries.
  • Maintains consistency of adherence to accounting goals; establishes and communicates standard operating procedures.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting along with the applicable licensure to fulfill degree is required
  • Seven (7) or more years of accounting experience is required, including two years of supervisory experience overseeing a team of professional staff
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
  • Experience working on projects related to process improvement
  • Fluency (speaking and writing) in both Spanish and English
  • Must be available to travel up to 30% - must have an unexpired VISA or traveling passport to travel into the United States
