Summary

This position will provide economic analysis and support for the Mandan Refinery Products Control Department. Responsibilities include routine forecasting duties, feedstock and product economic analysis, and short term (1-4 months) production planning/optimization. Communication with Findlay Refining Planning and other Mandan Refinery departments is required. This position will use multiple software tools to perform refinery economic analysis.

This position will provide the candidate with the necessary experience to transition into many roles in the Economics and Planning group and develop expertise in refining economics that will be useful in other roles in the company in both commercial roles and refinery leadership roles.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop weekly production forecasts for Mandan and Dickinson Refinery.
  • Develop production plans to optimize refinery operations.
  • Perform buy/make analysis for various feedstocks and products.
  • Communicate refinery operations and optimization strategies with Findlay Refining Planning, Product Scheduling and area operating teams.
  • Support optimization efforts and inventory management for shutdown and turnaround planning.
  • Track and report issues that lead to lost production opportunities.
  • Provide economics for projects and process optimization opportunities.
  • Work with Operations Research and Tech Service for LP model improvement opportunities.
  • Cross train with different Forecasting roles as part of coverage plan needs.

 

Education and Experience

  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering required
  • 3 years Technical Services or Economics and Planning preferred
  • Previous LP modeling experience is a plus
