SUMMARY

Provides onsite project support and ensures field project activities are conducted safely, meet design requirements, and have appropriate project and operational oversight.  Provides an interface between Engineering Project Manager and site contractors during project construction, start-up and commissioning. Participates in all aspects of project planning through execution and start-up/commissioning.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides onsite project support as well as a key input into project activities and ensures accurate scoping, project planning and commissioning are fully vetted through the Engineering Project Team
  • Provide Safety, Quality and Productivity oversight for fieldwork
  • Read and understand; Scopes of Work, Process flow Diagrams, P&IDs and CAD drawings. 
  • Ensures project activities have a full understanding of operational sensitivities, including simultaneous operations and activities, safety, environmental, and compliance.
  • Supports project activities related to mitigation, repair, and remediation during emergency responses.
  • Interacts with project teams to ensure operational optimization directives are understood and are being incorporated into project plans.
  • Provides local oversight to ensure project plans and activities meet operational and performance objectives.
  • Ensures operations and project management personnel are kept abreast of all issues and concerns related to pipeline, station and offshore construction. 
  • Functions as Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) into project constructability
  • Provides line of communication between contractors and Operations, Engineering, EH&S and Compliance.
  • Write Field Purchase Requisitions and manage Change orders, as required
  • General knowledge of safe excavations, proper sloping methods and types of excavated materials (i.e. Type A, Type B, etc.), confined space work.
  • General knowledge of API 650 and ASME B31.3/B31.4
  • Working knowledge of welding and non-destructive testing procedures for both tanks and pipelines.
  • Provide input to the project scheduler for weekly schedule progress updates.
  • Provide input verification for project cost control of work completed by the contractor’s WBS.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop project-specific construction standards, guidelines or practices.
  • Interacts daily with EPC contractor to plan field project execution.
  • Provide direction to Company inspectors and safety personnel to ensure critical items have oversight and resources are managed effectively.
  • Communicate potential safety, cost and schedule risks to Project Management in a timely manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION 

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years pipeline, logistics, or downstream oil & gas industry experience in construction management of complex capital projects.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Requires: working additional hours, weekends and/or holidays to complete projects or meet deadlines; ~50 % travel with overnight stays; on-and-off-road travel conditions; conditions requiring the ability to distinguish distances between objects. Conditions include climbing ladders, crawling into confined spaces, climbing on under and over piping and walking on uneven ground. Conditions include working in high places, such as on top of a 40’ storage tank. Conditions include working in elevated and reduced temperature environments. Conditions include working near equipment that may have hydrocarbon odors. Conditions include the possibility to be fit tested for a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus

  • Must be able to obtain a driver license and a passport
