The CI/OT Control System Support Specialist will work with MPC IT Management, subject matter experts, third-party vendors and business representatives to ensure CI/OT Control Systems solutions are engineered to align with Midstream organizational objectives, and compliant with standards and best practices.  They will draw upon non-technical skills to facilitate customer requirements, and technical skills to produce solutions and implementation plans.  Teamwork and collaboration with other supporting staff are critical to success.  Industrial knowledge as to the use and functionality of critical infrastructure and operational technology is mandatory. Experience with distributed and industrial networking technologies, DCS, SCADA, and other control systems is a plus. Role will provide support for all Midstream CI/OT, but position is located in the LA Basin to provide enhanced support for regionally located Midstream assets.



  • Supports the design and development Operational Technology (OT) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards, and in collaboration with CI/OT Architects.
  • Collaborates with other Midstream and Enterprise IT Teams to perform technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings.
  • Prioritizes and escalates Midstream customer segment issues to the appropriate Enterprise group and, when necessary, follows Midstream and Enterprise standards and procedures to remediate critical issues for said client.
  • Champions the need for solution design to meet business requirements and alignment to the overall strategy of IT.
  • Collaborates with others to identify areas of opportunity for improvement through integration, automation and enhanced business capabilities and ensure we are fully utilizing and benefiting from tools across the enterprise.
  • Collaborates with others, as an escalated level of support, to resolve major underlying technology issues which arise within project or a product as needed. Identifies opportunities to make significant changes in the process to eliminate outages, reduce waste, improve process and execution efficiencies, and improve communication across the organization.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains conceptual and logical designs to support current state of technologies and solutions identifying long term sustainability of the approach in place.  After hours support may be required at times, to assist with high priority issues and requests.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as required.
  • Provide updates weekly, monthly, or as requested.
  • Supports the corporate culture by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety & Corporate Social Responsibility.



  • 4 or more years of IT or OT networking experience
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems preferred
  • Experience working in a Critical Infrastructure/Operational Technology environment preferred



  • Subject matter expertise in distributed server and network technologies, with skills in multiple additional disciplines (technical depth and breadth) with a strong focus in LAN and WAN networking.
