This position reports to the Process Controls Supervisor and supports DCS and PLC projects and systems reliability.

 

Requirements:

 

Degree: Bachelor Degree Required

Major Discipline: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences

Years Experience Preferred: Two years experience in process controls

DCS Proficiencies: Experion PKS preferred

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Support small to large projects associated with DCS and PLC equipment. Activities include produce, review, and/or approve control design requirements; factory acceptance test; site acceptance test; and project planning.   
  2. Support DCS and PLC reliability through obsolescence planning, troubleshooting and resolving performance difficulty, evaluating vendor notifications, executing actions required by vendor notifications, and supporting software migration.
  3. Provide day-to-day PLC support for Operations.
  4. Build and maintain custom engineering tools and custom automated/semi-automated reports. Execute independent testing of control modifications. Develop custom control solutions and produce documentation for complex control loops and custom applications.
  5. Provide support to area operating teams when responsible process control team members are unavailable.
  6. This position requires on-call support and large projects require some travel for project meetings, review and approval of project documentation, and testing of DCS and PLC systems.
  7. When required, act as a lead or a participant in incident investigations.
  8. Participate in the MOC process.
