SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company currently has an opening for a call-in physician. The successful candidate will be a licensed physician in the state where the position is located who will play a key role in the Medical/Health Services department’s future development and collaboration with Licensed Nurse Practitioner - Certified, Emergency Medical Technician and Registered Nurse. The individual in this position will work a limited number of hours per month.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides medical direction and supervision to clinic and mid-level provider
  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred
  • Provides telephonic or face to face consultation to mid-level on an as needed basis
  • Provides on-site consultation and review of medical files for a minimum of 2 hours per month, and as needed
  • Reports to Corporate Medical Director with indirect responsibility to local HR Manager
  • The licensed physician will establish and maintain, if required by the state in which the position is located, a collaborative agreement with the on-site nurse practitioner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Licensed Physician in the State in which the position is located who is in good standing with the State Medical Board.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Emergency Medicine
  • 5 years’ experience supervising licensed healthcare providers such as RN, NPs or PAs
  • A minimum of 10 years of direct patient care experience that would include emergency room service is required.
  • The licensed physician should have a solid knowledge in emergency care, disaster preparedness, OSHA Regulations, USCG regulations, DOT regulations and patient evaluation.
  • Candidate should be knowledgeable in Fire and Rescue and have the ability to attend Disaster Planning meetings and attend drills and respond if available to plant emergencies.
  • Candidate will need to be within 30 minutes of the position and available for phone consultation; also needs to be in good standing with local receiving hospital.
