The position will report to the Supervisor of Accounting Coordination and Governance in the Controller’s Organization. The Analytical Processor will be a part of a three-member team responsible for Business Expense Reporting (BER), Accounts Payable, Invoice Scanning, and Check Printing.  This is a regular part time position consisting of 20 hours week/4 hours day.

 

Responsibilities include day-to-day use of the online Concur Business Expense Reporting system used by Marathon Petroleum Company. This position requires strong customer service skills as a large portion of the job involves handling user (employee) questions via phone call or email about their BER reports or corporate travel & entertainment (T&E) credit card charges. Strong technical skills are additionally important to work with Concur and IT Services to help identify and resolve system issues and to test files. Analytical skills are required to evaluate the employee’s T&E accounts, BER reports, and bank charges to determine if transactions are being handled appropriately. Audits of BER reports are performed on an ongoing basis. This position reconciles the BER suspense accounts in Blackline every month. Must be able to work with employees to correct BER report transactions that do not follow policy. Most of the information handled in this position requires confidentiality and discretion. Overtime work is sometimes required to meet system requirements or user needs. Occasional travel is required for training purposes.

The successful candidate must be customer focused, possess excellent verbal communication skills, be able to work with internal personnel and external software vendor in a cooperative and collaborative manner, and perform backup tasks for accounts payable, invoice scanning, check printing and certified check tasks when needed. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Excellent customer service skills and verbal communication skills
  • Ensure daily payment is made to the bank credit card company and file imports are received.
  • Strong analytical skills to audit BER reports for compliance to policy, evaluate employee’s T&E card accounts and reconcile as needed.
  • Exercise confidentiality and discretion regarding the information handled
  • Day-to-day use of Concur Business Expense Reporting system
  • Testing of transactions in the Concur test system
  • Proficiency in using SAP to research transactions related to BER reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel to combine files to reconcile BER suspense account
  • Must be able to create custom Concur reporting
  • Responsible for running regular monthly reports out of Concur for customers/users.
  • Reconciliation in Blackline of BER suspense account monthly
