This hiring class will have a January 2019 start date. 


Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL) is seeking individuals for the position of Operations Center Analyst (OC Analyst).  Our OC Analysts are highly trained to safely operate and perform system analysis of pipeline systems. Training is extensive and consists of: classroom training, individual comprehensive study, and field and console operations training.  Once trained, an OC Analyst will be part of a team that will utilize real-time operations and a sophisticated SCADA operating system to control and monitor MPL’s pipelines across the United States. OC Analysts are exposed to unparalleled knowledge of pipeline operations, extensive training, and employee development which allows for numerous opportunities for further advancement within the company.

 

Work Schedule: OC Analysts work a 12-hour rotating shift. Seven days are worked in a fourteen day time period, with a three day weekend (off) every other week, working an average of 182 days in a given year. Operations Center Analysts also rotate from day shift to night shift every four weeks. Travel required is very minimal.

 

Responsibilities:
The OC Analyst is responsible for safe execution of daily pipeline operations and performing system analysis of pipeline systems, uses interactive computer controls to operate valves, meters and pumping units located along various pipeline systems, monitors fluid levels in crude oil and products storage tanks, obtaining meter readings and gravitometer readings, and monitoring pipeline pressure and flow rates, carries out and executes pipeline schedules as a 3rd party common carrier as a part of Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s fully integrated business plan, and monitors and controls pipeline systems during abnormal and emergency operations.
 

Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, General Business, Logistics, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Computer Science. Basic PC skills are required. Cumulative GPA must be at or above 3.0
