Summary

 

The Graphic Services organization reports to the Administrative Services Manager of Marathon Petroleum Company LP. Graphic Services has a complete, in-house design agency serving all of MPC’s operating and administrative groups. It is responsible for video/audio productions, photography, streaming media, multimedia games/presentations, print graphics, web design work and illustrations. The successful candidate will be a member of our Photo/Video Team, and, as a result, should have a good understanding of or experience with creative design and scripting for video communications, training programs and other multimedia productions. In addition, the successful candidate should possess a commitment to customer service, safety, ethical behavior and confidentiality.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Proficient in all applicable software packages used in the creation of computer delivered multimedia, webbased training and web delivered streaming video, maintains a working knowledge of the contemporary tools in use to create the aforementioned at any given time and maintains a good level of proficiency in other aspects of IT administration appropriate to the computer platforms being used.
  • Specific software packages required for full functionality in the position include: animation knowledge and programming skills, Compression experience (Cleaner), Video streaming back end system requirements, Photoshop and webrelated software knowledge, Up-to-date on Microsoft Windows Media Player’s Codecs and Releases and Macro Media Director experience.
  • Provide technical support for all aspects of Video Streaming live and video on demand. Willingness to travel to various field locations for related assignments.
  • Provides basic software and systems assistance when needed for the Photo/Video & Art Departments.
  • Able to contribute and assist on assignments in a team environment, taking directions and supervision from others when appropriate. Possesses the interpersonal skills needed to function effectively as a member of a project team and interface with clients.
  • Develops an understanding of the various standards, policies, guidelines, development and functional tools, and utilizes them to enhance the quality and ensure compliance of the applications under development or maintenance.
  • Develops a working knowledge in other technical areas that are relevant to arriving at the appropriate solution for delivering multimedia via computers, including but not limited to, local and wide area networks, client‑server computing, operating systems, hardware platforms, communication protocols, Internet and intranet.
  • Basic knowledge of audio visual equipment including: video wiring, audio wiring, sound board operation, video camera set up and video recording set up.
  • A plus to have the following skills and abilities: Knowledge of 3D Animation software, After Effects and previous exposure to video production and Adobe Certifications.  

 

Experience and Education

 

  • Bachelor’s in graphic design, Motion Graphics for Video, or Creative Writing required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the creating of computer delivered multimedia, webbased training and web delivered streaming video.
  • Adobe Creative Suite software skills are required.
  • Proficient in preproduction planning for photo/video projects, script writing for video productions and all applicable software packages used in the creation of computer- and disc-delivered multimedia.
  • Considered a plus to have experience with the development of training and communication programs and/or illustration skills.
