Co-op/Intern opportunity available Spring and Summer 2021

Overview:

Are you a self-starter looking for a challenging opportunity, where you can gain hands-on aircraft maintenance experience? Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) can help get you there. MPC has an opportunity within our Aviation department where you can add value and grow professionally. You will have the opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment that fosters coaching and support. This position will be based in Findlay, OH.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with: aircraft cleaning and servicing, aircraft fueling and fuel farm maintenance, aircraft inspection and maintenance tasks,
  2. Perform minor ground support equipment maintenance and inspections,
  3. Maintain test and bench equipment; and operates testing equipment.
  4. Confer with Company pilots on operating condition of aircraft; and coordinate repair time with maintenance technicians.
  5. Adhere to directions contained in flight operations-related manuals and related procedures.
  6. Perform hangar cleaning tasks.
  7. Participate proactively in the safety management system by:
    1. Actively identifying, reporting and mitigating hazards and safety-risk management deficiencies;
    2. Providing timely input to management to ensure that the company’s safety-risk profile is accurate and up to date; and
    3. When appropriate, applying hazard checklists to make sound pre-flight and in-flight decisions. 

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required Major: Aviation Maintenance Technology, Aviation Maintenance Management, or similar
  • Enrolled in part 147 A&P program, OR certified technician completing a 4-year degree. Must have completed at least two semesters of A&P curriculum.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. 
  • Positions are available spring and summer semesters
  • Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program
  • Military experience a plus
