Overview

The Domain Architect is a leadership position for the Plan to Repair (P2R) solution offering an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in the support, development and enhancement of IT applications utilized by the Maintenance organization within Marathon Petroleum Company across many business units including Refining, Terminals, Pipeline, Marine, TT&R, and Speedway.  The role includes working closely with business partners and IT peers to perform various levels of business analysis, system integration, project management, and planning and budgeting for future needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Understand the SAP Solution Roadmap for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and the impact this roadmap has on MPCs current and future EAM solution (example S4HANA).
  • Maximize potential of MPCs existing SAP investment by actively engaging in SAP Influencer Groups that drive product improvements within the EAM community.
  • Engage with other Domain Architects, SAP support teams and the SAP Community of Practice to align on and improve development and support procedures.
  • Support corporate initiatives to restructure and/or acquire equipment assets.
  • Become an expert on P2R touchpoints with other SAP modules in the MPC landscape.
  • Coordinate release-based regression testing and support pack upgrades.
  • Understand all production changes being promoted by P2R and attend weekly CAB meeting.
  • Engage with IT IoT team as SAP EAM expert where opportunities exist to automate Plant Maintenance processes based on IoT data analytics. 
  • Understand the P2R integration and enhancement landscape.
  • Ensure proper resources and processes are in place to troubleshoot and resolve system issues proactively and provide recommendations to management, business partners and peers.
  • Provide strong communication skills and ensure timely reporting to key business partners and IT stakeholders.
  • Ensure Marathon IT SDLC and project management standards and processes are followed.
  • May travel to field locations as projects and support needs require.
