 In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position may be expected to assist accountants and business partners in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to day to day transactions. Candidates for this position should have a strong working knowledge of Excel with preferred SAP experience. This position will report to an area Accounting Supervisor or Manager.



  • Identifies, analyzes, verifies, interprets and processes financial and operating transactions and data.
  • Maintains records, accounts and ledgers pertaining to various phases of company activity; and prepares related schedules, statements and reports to analyze the results of activity.
  • Exchanges and interprets business information; and promotes effective and timely flow of required operating and financial information.
  • Counsels and advises various downstream organizations on consistent and appropriate application of financial accounting policies and procedures.
  • Depending upon the level of experience and expertise, may serve as a lead for other accounting personnel.
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively receive and distribute information to other accounting department personnel, operational department personnel, various levels of management, governmental agencies, and other MPC locations.
  • Participates in creating and recommending new policies, methods, procedures and spreadsheets designed to improve accounting controls and efficiency.
  • Works on special projects, as assigned.

  • Proven analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel - creating/modifying spreadsheets, data cleansing, pivot tables & formulas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Proven teamwork ability



  • Degree: Bachelor’s required
  • Major: Accounting Degree Required
  • Relevant Experience: A Minimum of Seven (7) Years Related Experience
  • Certification: CPA Preferred but not required


Travel: Up to 5% for training purposes
