POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the safety, health and security compliance programs at the MarkWest Bluestone processing facility.
This individual will be required to initiate compliance processes, provide training, develop procedures and track overall compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate the safety and security compliance programs.
• Facilitate the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
• Conduct compliance training and maintain records accordingly.
• Interface with regulatory agencies including local emergency response agencies and personnel.
• Develop and maintain safety related procedures and written programs.
• Facilitate the safety committee.
• Facility incident investigations for all injuries and Process Safety Events including performing
• Collect and track various safety related metrics.
• Coordinate and perform various site safety inspections and audits.
• Coordinate and administer various industrial health programs.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None directly. However, this individual is responsible for overseeing all safety, health and security elements of the facility and its employees including construction project work.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year College or university (preferably in a safety related field) plus five years direct experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Must have working understanding of PSM elements or previous experience at a regulated PSM/RMP facility.
• Must have the ability to prepare safety related reports and other various types of documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Must be able to properly analyze process safety related information and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Must be proficient in conducting onsite assessments and evaluations as they relate to safety and process safety management items.
• Must be proficient in writing detailed well written incident reports.
• Must be able to perform and track all site safety required trainings.
• Communication (verbal and written) Skills:
Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Job will require public speaking engagements and significant report writing.
• Computer Skills:

Applicant must have exceptional computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint systems is also required. Familiarity with safety related software management and LMS systems a plus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current valid driver's license required.
Current safety related certification or ability to acquire such are a plus.

• Must have a general understanding of the natural gas processing and gathering business.
• Must be able to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and privileged information.
• Must be a self-starter who works well with plant personnel, management, public, regulatory agencies, and customers.
• This position has high visibility at this location. Individual must possess excellent leadership type qualities and a previous track record of safety success.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
