Turnaround Construction Lead - Electrical

 

The Detroit Refinery E&I TAR/Construction Lead will report directly to the TAR/Construction Supervisor and is

responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant execution of E&I TAR and Construction activities. The E&I

Lead will support the TAR/Construction teams providing oversight of the E&I planning, scheduling, and

field coordination efforts. This position requires strong technical expertise as well as leadership,

interpersonal, communication, mentoring, and organizational skills.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures MPC’s Safe Work Policies and Practices are adhered to in all aspects of work.

2. Ensures MPC’s Construction and TAR Standard Practices are followed/implemented when planning,

scheduling, and executing E&I work scope.

3. Monitors KPI's to ensure quality, cost and time targets are achieved.

4. Ensures critical path scope is identified, optimized and executed in a safe and efficient manner.

5. Ensures adherence to site safety requirements through field audits and safety meeting attendance.

6. Participates in project Front End Loading (FEL) discussions.

7. Reviews and provides feedback on construction drawings and job packages.

8. Ensures the QA/QC process is imbedded in work plans and adhered to.

9. Issues recommendations from lessons learned to improve E&I planning and preparation efforts for

construction and turnarounds.

10. Assists in the overall development of Construction/TAR contracting strategies regarding E&I work scope.

11. Enforces Plan of the Plan (POP) deliverables and holds E&I team accountable to meeting required due

dates.

12. Ensures required E&I scope items are captured on TAR worklists prior to worklist freeze dates. Ensures

routine E&I items are not approved nor captured on the TAR worklist.

13. Ensures E&I TAR work scope complies with RSP 1308 and other applicable MPC Standards.

14. Develops temporary power needs and requirements for refinery TARs.

15. Develops control valve and MOV work scope. Works with outside vendors/shop regarding repairs and

rebuilds.

 

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED Required.

5 years of Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance or Turnaround experience required.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 

 

Job Preference:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Electrical Journeyman certification preferred.

Primavera (P6) and SAP experience preferred.

Prior leadership experience preferred.
