The Analyst position is a grade 9-10 position based on level of experience.  In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position will be expected to assist accountants and work with both Detroit and Canton refinery locations. This position will be in a coordinator role for the development of the annual initial budget. This position will also coordinate the Solomon benchmarking study, which will give opportunities to analyze and communicate the refinery’s position amongst its peers. This position requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and effective communication skills, in support of various opportunities aligning with the company's cost reduction efforts.





  • Coordinates and develops the manufacturing expense budget for the Detroit Refinery. The budget cycle includes the annual budget, potential monthly forecast updates and supporting the monthly reporting of actual vs. budgeted expenditures.
  • Lead the coordination of the data input across multiple departments, for the biennial industry benchmarking Solomon study.
  • The position provides financial analysis and consultation to strategy teams, multiple departments and refinery leadership.
  • Participate as an active member of cross-functional teams, evaluating various cost efficiencies and other opportunities.
  • This includes communicating with the operating groups, preparing, presenting and representing the teams’ analysis in front of refinery leadership.
  • Assist in preparation of month end financial liabilities.
  • This individual ensures the appropriate recognition of financial commitments and obligations, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for various corporate and local municipal reporting.
  • This individual is responsible for timely reporting, regarding a variety of areas including Owner Occupied Insurance Program (OCIP), City of Detroit and leasing obligations 
  • Serve as a back up to the Finance Section Chief.
  • Work on special projects as needed.





  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required
