This position will be responsible for project costing, and inventory related transactions processed for MarkWest Energy Partners and any of their subsidiaries or joint ventures. This includes recording and reconciling assigned accounts in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with company policies.


• Obtains information from internal and external sources to record accounting transactions in the subledgers and general ledger for all PP&E and inventory accounts.
• Ensures transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
• Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of transactions in the subledger and general ledger accounts.
• Analyzes account balances and is responsible for properly supported account reconciliations, quarterly analysis and reporting for Joint Ventures.
• Answers and resolves internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Provide support to supervisors or manager and assists other accountants as requested by management.
• Assist with asset and inventory verifications.
• Occasional travel to field locations.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Two to Three years of general ledger accounting required.
• Oracle experience preferred.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work under high pressure & in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated and team-oriented individual.
• Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Flexible to work overtime during peak periods.


Physical Demands:

Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office as needed to file, print, etc.

Working Environment:

Primarily an office environment.
