The candidate will work closely with environmental, engineering, and field operations staff to prepare permits and other plans related to the development of natural gas processing and compression facilities and to ensure compliance with all permit limitations and state and federal regulations.



  • Prepare all aspects of environmental permits to be submitted to state and federal agencies, primarily in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia
  • Assist in the execution of the environmental compliance program,
  • Prepare and maintain Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for PE signature,
  • Compile data and information needed for submittal of Risk Management Plans (RMP),
  • Determine if all permit conditions and applicable rules and regulations are being met and make recommendations to achieve continued compliance,
  • Assist field environmental coordinators in all matters,
  • Maintain schedule of projects and tasks to ensure deadlines are met,
  • Assist in responding to agency requests,
  • Stay current in applicable local, state and federal ordinances, rules and regulations.



No supervisory duties of employees at this time.



  • Bachelors degree from four-year college or university in engineering or equivalent physical and natural sciences, obtaining EIT or PE status a plus,
  • 3-10 years experience working in the natural gas industry or related field,
  • Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations pertaining to the natural gas sector,
  • Air permitting experience in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania
  • Experience and knowledge of air dispersion modeling programs such as AERMOD, EPA Tanks, GRI-Glycalc, AutoCAD, ALOHA, Aspen HYSYS or other simulation models a plus,
  • Experience with preparing and implementing SPCC and RMPs a plus,
  • Ability to understand and implement new regulations as they are enacted,
  • Current driver’s license required,
  • Must have excellent verbal  and written communication skills with the ability to provide training sessions for field personnel,
  • Basic computer skill to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word and Power Point,
  • Ability to prepare reports, exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information and the ability to keep records, analyze and summarize raw data,
  • Ability to work well and communicate with all plant personnel and senior managers




Physical Demands:


This position requires sitting throughout most of the day.  It will involve some lifting and filing.

Travel to field sites will be required on occasion, which will require walking around construction sites, industrial locations, field and/or wooded areas.  Travel may be required up to 25% of time.


Working Environment:


While primarily working in an office setting, the employee will be required to visit the field locations on occasion to assess the needs of each site and gather required information for the required plans.  During these visits, the employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and will often be exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from cold to hot, humid conditions.  Walking on uneven terrain is often required during field visits.  High noise areas may be encountered.

The materials and equipment used on a regular basis will be a personal computer, phone, and copier.
