Responsible for managing projects of all sizes, often simultaneously, as assigned by the Sr. Director of Shared Operation Services. Owns assigned projects and takes responsibility for planning, initiating, monitoring/controlling and closing each project.  Delivers project objectives by building effective relationships with a diverse group of accounting, legal and IT professionals and vendors at all levels of experience. Project responsibilities will encompass acquisitions and other strategic initiatives as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

Project management responsibilities:
• Responsible for evaluating project objectives and defining project scope.
• Responsible for identifying all processes and resources (including time, personnel and funds) needed to meet the project objectives and scope and incorporating them into the project plan.
• Create initial project definition documents based on identified needs for process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure stakeholder buy-in and approval of the project plan/schedule.
• Arrange for recruitment or assignment of personnel to work on projects.
• Ensure that all proposed options, risks (with mitigation strategies) and proposals are comprehensive and accurate prior to review with Project Owner and stakeholders.
• Create a detailed project plan with team members prior to project kickoff in order to set the project baseline (scope, timing and cost).
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for all project-related issues.
• Responsible for all project-specific communications to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain project budget. Manage and track project-related costs, facilitate development of all project related statements of work, and obtain organization funding approvals.
• Responsible for project-related vendor management.
• Responsible for creating and updating all project deliverables and storing them in accessible document management systems (e.g., SharePoint).
• Develop solutions for project issues and effectively communicate solutions to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor for project scope creep and initiate an effective project change request process as appropriate for the project.
• Proactively notify the project sponsor and/or steering committee of any new problem, issue, concern, risk, or escalation on assigned projects. 
• Develop positive working relationships with project stakeholders and team members.
• Develop monitoring processes to evaluate the effectiveness of new or modified processes.
• Develop training materials for use in both instructor-led and web-based training environments for use by project teams to introduce new or modified processes.

Provide support and training on subjects in which the Senior Project Manager has expertise.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES – This position requires the ability to supervise consultants and other internal personnel with regard to tasks and commitments made to the project team rather than in a direct-line supervisory responsibility.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting
• Project Management Professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft tools and experience with multiple accounting software packages
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to lead change and improve processes
• Excellent oral communication skills- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates proficient group presentation skills; participates in meetings.
• Excellent written communication - Writes clearly and informatively.

• Prior supervisory experience required

Primarily in an office environment, (i.e., in a cluster of cubicles).  Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office as needed to print, attend meetings, etc.
