The Measurement Specialist is the subject matter expert regarding operations and field measurement for back office personnel. The position will have responsibilities for ensuring company applications meet all applicable requirements and business needs, for developing and implementing company procedures and training programs, and for participating on measurement committees as a MarkWest representative and subject matter expert.

• Work with field measurement, IT, and back office measurement to maintain TESTit and related procedures to meet industry standard, SOX, BLM and contractual requirements and business needs.
• Participate in Flow-Cal upgrades and other testing to ensure compliance with industry standard, SOX, BLM, and contractual requirements and business needs.
• Participate in industry organizations as a MarkWest representative and subject matter expert.
• Train employees, vendors and contractors on company procedures and standards.
• Provide technical expertise in measurement issues and disputes.
• Ensure conformity with company, departmental and industry standards.
• Work in conjunction with MarkWest business units and third party companies to assure industry standards are followed.
• Assist in troubleshooting pipeline and plant balances and L&U.
• Audit 3rd party data and field locations, and 3rd party gas analysis.
• Perform special projects as directed by business units and management.

• May direct and oversee MarkWest personnel and contractor’s specific to assigned projects.

• Required:
o High school degree.
o Minimum of 5 years measurement related experience.
o Flow-Cal (or equivalent) experience.
o TESTit (or equivalent) experience.
o Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
o Thorough knowledge of measurement principles.
o High level of analytical problem solving background/skills.
o Strong math skills.
o Thorough knowledge of pipeline and plant operations.
o Thorough knowledge of measurement equipment and operations.
o Thorough knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
o Ability to train others.
o Ability to organize and manage work according to deadlines.
o Ability to shift gears and comfortably cope with change.
o Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
o Positive attitude.
o Professional demeanor.
• Preferred:
o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience.
o Field measurement or operations experience.

Physical Demands:
Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office. Some lifting up to 40lbs may be required and filing

Working Conditions:
Works primarily in an office environment. On occasion, there will be off-site field trips that may involve walking around construction sites, industrial locations and/or wooded areas.
