This successful candidate will assist in recordkeeping, calculations and reporting in support of permitting and compliance at MarkWest facilities.

• Recordkeeping, calculations and reporting of pigging operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia
• Primary preparation of emission inventories in Ohio and West Virginia, assisting with others states as required
• Prepare and maintain Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for PE signature
• Assist in preparation of Risk Management Plans (RMP) and permit applications as required
• Enter and review site specific information and emission factors into ACTS compliance database
• Assure ESS task notifications are comprehensive and up-to-date
• Assist field environmental coordinators in all matters
• Travel to facilities to ensure compliance with air, waste and water regulations


• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in the field of physical sciences, natural sciences or engineering
• 0-5 years experience working in the natural gas industry or related field
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to keep records, analyze and summarize raw data, in order to fill out and submit summary and regulatory reports
• Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations pertaining to the natural gas sector
• Ability to understand and implement new rules and regulations as they are enacted
• Current valid driver's license
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Discretion when dealing with confidential information
• Ability to work well and communicate with inter-office and plant personnel
• Knowledge and experience with Tanks 4.0.9d, GRI-GLYCalc, Aspen HYSYS
• Experience with Intelex ACTS software a plus
• SPCC and RMP experience a plus

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting or standing at a desk throughout most of the day. It may involve some lifting, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Travel to field sites will be required on occasion, which may require walking on uneven surfaces, construction sites, industrial locations, field and/or wooded areas.

Working Environment:

While primarily working in an office setting, the employee will be required to visit the field locations on occasion to assess the needs of each site and gather required information for the required plans. During these visits, the employee is required to war appropriate person protective equipment and will often be exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from cold to hot, humid conditions. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during field visits. High noise levels may be encountered.

Materials and Equipment Used:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly use hand tools, computers, phone, fax, copier, map printer/plotter and analytical electronic devices and operate a motor vehicle.
