Administers environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.  Coordinates monitoring, data analysis, recordkeeping, and reporting. 


  1. Interprets applicable regulations and maintains policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.


  1. Prepares reports, plans and permits required to comply with environmental regulations. Oversees monitoring, recordkeeping, and data collection.  Performs calculations required for reporting.


  1. Develops and implements compliance programs.


  1. Performs environmental audits and field inspections.  Leads EPA and other regulatory agency inspections and information requests.  Recommends changes in refinery operations to ensure compliance. 


  1. Provides technical guidance to refining and logistics departments to ensure environmental compliance.  Supervise monitoring and repair crews, ensuring that Tesoro’s policies and procedures are followed in the field.


  1. Participates in Corporate environmental network and stays current on changes to environmental requirements.


  1. Serves as a member of 24/7 Emergency Response Team and/or Oil Spill Response Team.




  • Minimum undergraduate degree in science or related field required.


  • Minimum 2 years’ progressive environmental experience in a petroleum or related industry required.
