POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Under the direction of the Chromatography Supervisor, Chromatography Technicians are expected to maintain and repair all process and Accounting Gas Chromatographs
  • Safely maintain, calibrate, and repair all process analyzer systems.
  • Document and maintain calibration and maintenance records.
  • Perform root cause analysis on analyzer failures and problems.
  • Provide coverage for: weekends and call-outs, 24-hour start-up, holiday and inclement weather.
  • Implement additions or deletions to the warehouse stock of spare parts.
  • Maintain and support all equipment associated with process analyzer systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work well under time pressures.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute many tasks at once.
  • Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of the proper use of electrical test equipment,hand tools and power tools.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a safe manner.
  • 3 years experience in petrochemical or refinery analyzer maintenance.


Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Experience with Daniels, Siemens, and ABB gas chromatographs.
  • Experience with Spectra Sensors.
  • Experience in process operation or process control.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of environmentally hazardous substances. 
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis.
