POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides environmental support for the MPLX – Permian Area operations in New Mexico and Texas. Provides environmental oversight and consultation for various assets such as crude oil stations, gas plants, compressor stations and related gathering pipelines. Provides multimedia (air, water and waste) technical and subject matter expertise in support of environmental programs. Works under general supervision to oversee area environmental compliance and works closely with Operations and Engineering personnel to ensure that regulations and operating permit requirements are understood and met.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, direction, and is accountable to ensure environmental programs and processes are compliant with applicable rules, regulations, and company standards. 
  • Provides multimedia environmental support and guidance on complex regulatory issues.
  • Works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance personnel to implement Operational Excellence strategies, specific to environmental programs, that are necessary to achieve performance goals and consistent with best industry practices.
  • Supports and maintains systems that are in place to ensure that environmental compliance records are properly maintained and available for review.
  • Supports processes to ensure that environmental risks of new projects are understood and mitigated and provides routine status updates to stakeholders.
  • Conducts field visits and incident response management, as well as, provide timely communication of environmental concerns.
  • Supports incident review, including assessment of potential risks and root cause analysis.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental, science or other related discipline preferred
  • Minimum four years of environmental experience (petroleum industry required/midstream preferred)
  • Working knowledge of US EPA and TX/NM environmental regulations
