POSITION SUMMARY:
In general, this position will be responsible for sourcing low cost repair, maintenance and operation supply and services alternatives across all plants in the Northeast Business Unit.
Additionally, this position will perform Purchase Order administration with a primary emphasis on managing and approving Operations and Construction purchase orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works in conjunction with Purchasing Team to support capital projects and operations by taking the lead in or assisting with the following functions:

• Oracle purchasing functional expert with responsibility for process improvement, user acceptance, testing, user training, and report development.
• Drive sourcing initiatives on savings, supplier performance and supplier base rationalization.
• Determine lowest possible cost for MRO material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs and making sourcing recommendations to internal users.
• Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting plant operations
• Perform continual market analysis, cost analysis, and monitor supplier progress to plan
• Ensure that material/services will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meet required quality standards
• Identify and develop commodity savings initiative including preferred supplier programs, price agreements, and volume rebates. Commemorate with contracts and blanket agreements after buy in from operations.
• Receive, review and manage all requisition and purchase orders from Construction Project Managers.
• Ensures that purchase orders are processed timely and accurately.
• Provide direction and consult with Construction Project Managers, Project Analysts, vendors and contractors on the requisition entry process.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure appropriate creation of requisitions, manage revisions to purchase orders, and assist in resolving Purchase Order related issues.
• Provide additional administrative support as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree preferred
• Three to five years of Procurement experience.
• Intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
• Knowledge of Oracle Procurement.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute many tasks at once.
• Client service orientation.
• Good communications skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office.

Work Environment:

Primarily in an office environment and occasional travel to plant sites may be required.
