SUMMARY: Reports to the Engineering Supervisor, G&P Engineer Construction Department. Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing capital projects in the Northeast Business Unit. Develops and adheres to project budgets. This position will focus on technical support, leadership, and oversight for pipeline and compressor station projects with an emphasis in pushing forward the overall engineering and design of new compressor stations and pipeline. Performs all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Candidate must have experience with natural gas projects:
o Gas and Liquid Pipelines to 49 CFR 192 & 195
o Familiar with PSM and Facility Projects
• The focus of this position will be leading internal and external engineering and construction teams in building a complete design package and construction of natural gas compressor stations and pipelines. The goal to develop projects to be safe, operable, cost effective and consist across the company.
• Must have experience with PFDs, P&IDs, isometric electrical and pipeline documentation.
• Must be able to manage projects of varying magnitude and complexity from conception to start-up, primarily pipelines, pumps and compressor station projects.
• Must be able to develop project scopes, estimate project costs, and prepare funding requests for projects on greenfield and brownfield site.
• Must be proficient in developing project budgets and controlling costs.
• Must be able to prepare and execute contracts.
• Must be able to prepare bid requests and evaluate such based on sound engineering and business principles.
• Must maintain knowledge and ability to apply engineering standards as they relate to the specific project.
• Must be able to handle assignments and projects with minimal supervision and complete within acceptable time standards.
• Must be capable of providing equipment specifications per MarkWest standards and order appropriate materials for projects.
• Must have broad knowledge of liquid pipeline and natural gas processing and operations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a degree in engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university with at least 10 years of experience in the natural gas industry. Current valid driver's license required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees is required. Communication skills will carry a heavy emphasis.


WORKING CONDITONS:
Physical Demands: Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with trips to the construction sites as needed. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during normal work duties.

Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from extreme cold to hot, humid conditions. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during normal work duties. High noise areas may be encountered. At all times proper PPE must be used in work areas.

Location: This position will be based out of the Canonsburg office in the Southpointe business park.
