SUMMARY: The Materials Logistics Specialist is responsible for tracking, expediting and bidding shipments for both Liberty and Utica Business Units. This position will standardize best practices in order to support Project Manager’s for processing plants, compressor stations, and pipeline projects. Performs all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and governmental requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Works in conjunction with Project Manager’s, Procurement and management to support capital projects and MRO shipments by taking the lead in the following functions:

• Manage the bid process for all shipments specialist is coordinating
• Facilitate shipments from one destination to another both internal company shipments and external moves.
• Visit vendor facilities to expedite and report back on material progress
• Attend construction meetings as required to report on material status
• Work closely and establish communication with ROW, Plant Managers and Project Managers to ensure proper routes are being followed and deliveries are made in a timely manner.
• Facilitate kick off meetings with Project Manager and Carrier on all new projects to ensure both parties requirements will be met
• Submit weekly tracking, expediting and shipments logs to appropriate personnel
• Work with Accounts Payable and carrier on invoicing to resolve any outstanding issues
• Enter PO requisitions for Project and Plant Managers as required
• Monitor freight inbox, prepare shipment requests and schedule time critical deliveries as needed
• Work with employees and suppliers to utilize the established internal freight program


JOB QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires 5 years’ experience in materials/logistics handling. Prefer 4-10 years prior natural gas industry experience. Bachelor’s degree required. Current valid driver's license required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees is required. Communication skills will carry a heavy emphasis. Applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel. Prior experience with Oracle and SAP a plus.


Physical Demands: Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with trips to the construction sites and vendor facilities as needed. Walking on uneven terrain is often required during normal work duties.

Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, which could range from extreme cold to hot, humid conditions. High noise areas may be encountered. At all times proper PPE must be used in work areas.

Location: This position will be based out of Canonsburg, PA.

Travel: Some travel required to MarkWest locations in KY, PA, OH, and WV. Travel may be required to vendor facilities as well.
