This position serves as a lead person in the operations, maintenance, testing and inspection of natural gas and natural gas liquid pipelines.  Performs and or directs pipeline maintenance activities such as and not limited to: pipeline patrols; leak repairs and surveys; valve maintenance; installing cathodic protection systems and anodes; clearing right-of-way and monitoring SCADA systems.  Conducts and or directs locates and pipelines identifications through the state one call system.  The individual must demonstrate good communication skills with co-workers, contractors, general public, landowners and government agencies relative to pipeline operations.

  • With the use of a PC and/or hand held device, completes Work Orders, enters data into Job Plans, creates new Work Orders, etc. in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - ORACLE)
  • Scheduled maintenance and surveys of pipelines and relevant equipment
  • Pipeline rectifier system operations and maintenance
  • Insure that environmental and governmental regulatory and compliance conditions are met
  • Must be fluent with CFR 192 and 195
  • Control and minimize expense through strong preventative maintenance plans and procedures
  • Comply with all EH&S guidelines
  • Reporting any unsafe condition or situation that would compromise the integrity of any MarkWest equipment or locations
  • Maintaining clean and safe working environment, housekeeping duties for company facilities as required
  • Making any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe
  • General compressor station operations
  • Operating a company vehicle
  • Maintaining the company vehicle and equipment at all times to ensure safety to him and the equipment that he will operate
  • Order equipment as needed






 Employee will direct the work of Pipeline Technicians, temporary employees, contract labor, or others.





  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Must hold a valid Driver License and have an excellent driving record
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug test and background check
  • Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Applicants must be professional, have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • A minimum of two (2) years of continuing education is preferred
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to train and motivate others
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute many tasks at once
