Facility Inspector Specific Job Description:

  • The Facility Inspector is responsible for the safe and efficient inspection of equipment and right-of-way’s and for communication with the general public and governing agencies regarding regulatory and public awareness issues associated with the Mountain West Logistics operations.

 

Facility Inspectors Primary Duties:

  • Daily reviews of one call tickets and respond to locations when needed.
  • Assist Operations as needed.
  • Onsite inspection of all 3rd party crossings inside pipe line right-of-way record keeping and documentation.
  • Drive pipe line right-of-way through all towns on a weekly and bi- weekly schedule.
  • Review and address items on air patrol reports.
  • Attend public awareness meetings with the different state and local agencies.
  • Attend Underground Utility Agency meetings.
  • Respond to emergency one call tickets after hours if there are encroachment issues.
  • Install and repair all marker poles along pipe line right-of-way.
  • Inspect as needed and record all mainline block valve sites for any leaks and perform monthly pump station inspections.
  • Update spreadsheet for any public awareness meeting with property owners along right-of-way. 

 

Joint accountability with the Maintenance Supervisor

  • Accountable for mainline block valve site and pump station inspections.
  • Joint accountability with the Maintenance Supervisor for troubleshooting and problem response.
  • Joint accountability with the Maintenance Supervisor for emergency response.
  • Joint accountability with the Maintenance Supervisor for maintenance prioritization.
  • Complete recurring work list items as scheduled.

 

Coordination and Communication:

  • Informs the Maintenance Supervisor of all relevant issues and concerns regarding inspection results.
  • Communicates directly with their crew on matters related to safety, environmental, and reliability issues
  • Interfaces with their crew to execute the daily plan, and on routine, reliability, and emergency situations.
  • Communicates directly with the public on matters regarding awareness of pipeline and terminal activities and right of ways as per public awareness program.
  • Communicates with federal, state, and local government agencies on matters regarding public awareness program.
  • Informs and assists the Maintenance Supervisor with maintenance prioritization.
  • Coordinate maintenance and operations activities, with specific accountability for personnel safety.
  • Maintains complete documentation of all right-of-way inspection issues and public awareness meetings.

 

Reliability:

  • Ensures work notifications are written and authorized to address inspection issues.
  • Verify completion and ensure closure of work orders as needed.

 

Troubleshooting:

  • Directs process troubleshooting and problem response management.
  • Directs their crew to solve/troubleshoot equipment problems, and assists the Maintenance Supervisor in mentoring, coaching, and specific troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensures that problems that cannot be solved on-shift are effectively referred to other resources for assistance/solutions.

Personnel Development and Training:

  • Maintains all required qualifications.
  • Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in training and mentoring of crew members on key reliability techniques and issues.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in implementing training plans as needed.

 

Safety:

Ensures compliance with all routine safety activities such as:

  • Conduct crew safety meetings as needed.
  • Oversee completion of safety equipment checklists, and safety audits etc.
  • Work Permit / LOTO support including development of procedures and isolation lists as needed.
  • Permit Authorization issuance and verification (hot works, confined space), etc.
  • Emergency response management such as; fires, spills, leaks, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Incident Maintenance (IM) documentation and recommendation resolution.
  • Incident investigation recommendation resolution.
  • Work with the EH&S to get latest information related to safety items and/or training for use in safety and crew meetings.

 

Environmental:

Ensures compliance with environmental requirements such as:

  • VOC inspections.
  • Monitor for leaks/spills.
  • Security / sign inspections.
